Pinto Galli loves music that carries something special – that breaks the mould, that breathes authenticity. His crates are a journey: raw classic funk, Caribbean rhythms, Afro-beat, Brazilian grooves, 70s crossover, boogie, disco and modern soul – always with that certain something and a few extra newtons on the groove.
A regular at Kasheme Zürich and a familiar face at the NOT TOO YOUNG Swiss Soul Weekender over the years, Pinto has built a collection spanning continents and decades, with no small number of rarities and obscurities that make the Shazam screens light up mid-dancefloor. His sets have taken him from Basel basement nights to radio studios, from Lisbon record shops to international vinyl gatherings.
One thing has stayed constant: he clearly loves his music, and more than once he’s been spotted slipping off the decks and onto the dancefloor mid-set. For the 13th and final edition of NTY, it feels only right that he’s there – celebrating the end of a chapter that has been part of his story all along.
