Leo Mastropierro (IT)

Leo Mastropierro has been a DJ and club promoter since 1992. A lifelong lover of Black music, his passion spans soul, jazz, funk, disco, and house. He currently hosts a show on Radio Raheem.

Leo began his DJ career spinning acid jazz records in a small town near Rome before moving to the capital, where he became resident DJ and artistic director of Bluecheese (1999–2006). From 2007 to 2011, he was resident DJ of a monthly Mod/Sixties party in Rome and at the Terracina Mod Weekender.

Over the years, he has played at some of Rome’s most renowned clubs and major events, including La Notte Bianca (2004–2007), the Million Marijuana March street parade (2001), and the first World Gay Pride in Rome (2000) with the Bluecheese crew.

Since 2008, Leo has been actively involved as both organizer and DJ in Roma Soul City, the annual soul event in Rome.

He has also been a guest DJ at some of Italy’s best-known soul events, including Black Trefoil Soul Club (Genova), Allnighter Ducale (Parma), Oldies Allnighter (Ferrara), Rimini Rare Soul Weekender, Cannonball Soul Weekender (Carpi), Dig This! Soul Alldayer (Milano), and Pordenone Soul Allnighter.

Internationally, he has played at Friday Street in Glasgow (2010), Soul City Berne Special Nighter (2013), NOT TOO YOUNG Swiss Soul Weekender (2019), South of France Soul Weekender, Northern Soul Amsterdam (2017 & 2019), as well as Soul Sister Club in Lisbon and the Bristol Northern Soul Club Alldayer.
